Theodore Roosevelt’s life cannot be fully comprehended unless one seeks to embody the very traits that encompassed it. He lived as robust and fulfilling an existence as is seemingly possible for any one human being. His interests were so numerous and so diverse as to boggle the mind.
The blend we have crafted for Teddy mirrors the exemplary life he lived. The Nicaraguan wrapper is made from Ligero leaf which is at once, both rich and refined, and it grows closest to the light of the sun, just as he did.
The binder is made from the rough and rugged Connecticut Broadleaf which is also grown under the intense light of the sun. Unlike its delicate cousin Connecticut Shade, which is coddled like a baby throughout its production, Broadleaf is harvested violently with a hatchet and cured, rootstalk intact. The nutrients in the rootstalk continue to infuse the leaves as they cure in the same way that Teddy’s early struggles nourished and enriched his life.
The long filler is an exquisite blend of Nicaraguan and Dominican leaf which perfectly finishes this extraordinary tribute to an extraordinary life.
